Opening of Salamanca Group’s Infinity Office Tower

05/08/2014

Salamanca Group, the Merchant Banking and Operational Risk business, announces the opening of a 19 storey 21,000 sq m office tower at the award winning Bulgaria Mall development project in Sofia. As the first of two proposed office towers, the building is already 80% let to a broad range of companies which are using the offices as regional headquarters. The current occupiers are Total, Avon Cosmetics, Telus International, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Imperia Online, Cordeel and ActivTrades.

The development is on the same site as Salamanca Group’s recently completed Bulgaria Mall, located at the intersection of the Bulgaria and Todor Kableshkov boulevards in Sofia, Bulgaria. One of the largest office towers built in the region this year, the building was developed by MRPI and constructed by Cordeel. The development was funded with equity from clients of Salamanca Group and debt from UniCredit Bulbank and Bank of Austria. Following the completion of the first office tower, a further construction phase is due to commence on a second 14,000 sq m office tower which will complete at the end of 2015.

Colliers International acted for Salamanca Group on securing the lettings. Commenting on the opening, Nikos Koulouras, Head of Salamanca Group’s Real Estate division, said: “Completion of Infinity Tower, the first of the two office towers, is an important milestone in the overall development project and follows the completion of the Bulgaria Mall at the end of 2012. We took a contrarian view in 2012 to go ahead and build the tower and have been proven right by the lettings we have secured. The strong tenants we have attracted reflect both the real Class A office space specification as well as the building’s prime location with access to the mall, public transport and the general area to the south of Sofia.”

“Last year Bulgaria Mall was awarded “Building of the Year 2013” in the “Buildings with Elements of Green Architecture” category, part of the internationally recognised BREEAM assessment. We will be aiming for the same achievement in environmental performance for the office tower,” continued Koulouras.
